Each health service offers a unique experience and many already have a large multicultural team.As registered Nurse. PRIMARY PURPOSE Provide safe compassionate person centred care within the unit/facility ensuring safe care is delivered in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes. A typical day in the life of a Registered Nurse will include the following: To contribute towards own development to maintain existing competence and/or develop further competence in areas such as emergency; general medical; aged care; and day surgery (Only for Gunnedah roles) Deliver quality, efficient and effective person centred care which meets the needs of the patients and their families or carers. Act as an advocate to assist patients and their families/carers make informed decisions. Support patients and their families/carers to ensure clinical interventions and service delivery processes are understood and enable patients to make informed decisions in relation to their health needs. Make appropriate referrals to support patients requirements on discharge. Provide appropriate supervision and/or mentoring for staff as required including the supervision of students on clinical placement. Respond effectively to emergency situations and the changing status of the patient. Delegate aspects of care to ENs and AINs according to their competence and within their scope of practice. Delivery of service - within professional boundaries, ethics and cultural respect, scope of practice. Demonstrate commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. Act in accordance with the HNE Health Values Charter and NSW Health Code of Conduct; model behaviours that reflect the Excellence Framework (Every Patient, Every Time) and ensure work is conducted in a manner that demonstrates values of cultural respect in accordance with HNE Healths Closing the Gap strategy. All staff are expected to take reasonable care that their acts and omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others, that they comply with any reasonable instruction that is given to them and with any policies/procedures relating to health or safety in the workplace that are known to them, as well as notifying any hazards/risks or incidents to their managers. SELECTION CRITERIA The potential candidate MUST meet the following requirements 1. Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team. 2. Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to patient care. 3. Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care. 4. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise. 5. Demonstrated ability to apply and share professional expertise to enhance patient care. 6. Registered Nurse licensed an accredited institution.
